So Does Every Cloud Have a Silver Lining?

My friend Doris, a non-smoker who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last year, just called me.

We communicate at least once a week. She lives in Pa., where I did until six and a half years ago. We've been friends for a lifetime.

Doris had surgery, chemo and radiation therapy last year. She had a follow-up CT scan earlier this week and the results are great; there is no sign of cancer! Her oncologist is extremely pleased. He told her to return in four months. If her condition remains the same her clip will be removed.

She was (understandably) thrilled and so was I!

So ... is there a silver lining in life's clouds?

Since Doris is my sister, I'm way beyond thrilled!

I believe there is a silver lining in clouds. I can recount 3 or 4 things in my life that I thought were the "end of the world"...and looking back now, can see that God was indeed looking out for me...and I'm better off for those "horrible" situations...even getting laid off at an online company led me to a new career in pharmacy, one where I can help my daughter with her daily struggles with constant pain. It's not always obvious, but the silver lining will show up some day :)
